One of the key post-event activities in the 15th IIGW 2026 is a geothermal field trip to PT. Geo Dipa Energi (Persero) Unit Patuha. This program is designed to provide participants with both theoretical understanding and direct field exposure to geothermal energy systems, operations, and infrastructure. Scheduled for Thursday, July 16th, 2026, this field trip offers a unique opportunity to explore one of Indonesia’s most iconic geothermal sites, known for its operational excellence and historical significance in the development of geothermal energy in the region. 

Participants will visit key locations such as geothermal wells, the power generation facility, and Kampung Direct Use. They will engage directly with experts, observe operational procedures, and gain insights into the real-world application of geothermal technologies. 

OBJECTIVES 

  • To educate participants on geothermal field systems and direct-use facilities. 
  • To provide an overview of geothermal power plant operations and supporting infrastructure. 
  • To offer participants an opportunity to learn directly from field professionals and site engineers. 
  • To encourage cross-sector dialogue and knowledge sharing between students, academics, professionals, and industry representatives. 
  • To showcase geothermal contributions to local development and sustainability. 

EXPECTED OUTCOMES 

  • At the end of the field trip, participants are expected to: 
  • Demonstrate an improved understanding of geothermal systems and plant operations. 
  • Identify the main components of geothermal infrastructure, including wells, turbines, and control systems.
