ISOR X ITB INTERNATIONAL GEOTHERMAL WORKSHOP 2022

Call for Geothermal Enthusiast! We proudly present, The 11th IIGW 2022 Post-Event Course #6: Geothermal Utilization from the Icelandic Perspective - Benefits and Challenges during the Production

This course will be led by Iwona Monika Galeczka [Geochemist - ISOR (Iceland GeoSurvey)] and will be delivered in English.

This course is a part of the 11th IIGW 2022 annual event, which will be held on August 12th 2022 Online via Zoom.

Topics that will be discussed are:

-Geothermal development in Iceland (settings, resources)
-Utilization of low temperature fields (background and case studies)
-Utilization of high temperature fields (background and case studies)
-Chemical and environmental monitoring of the utilized fields with focus on geochemistry of the fluids
-Challenges in utilization of low and high temperature fields
- CO2 emissions from geothermal fields
-Scaling, corrosion, and gas content
-Deep drilling in Iceland
-Deep sampling of geothermal wells
-Exercise with WATCH
